Random Cartoon
Can dogs obsess? They sure can, and studies on dog behaviour issues, obsessions, fears, additions and imbalances etc. have become useful when looking at and researching similar behaviour quirks in humans. Hell, even the medication used in treatments is the same at times.
Can dogs have additions? Oh yes indeedy...toys and food come first to mind. It seems that additions and obsessions often go hand-in-hand - one can be addicted to and obsess over anything really.
The above picture is Brandy's obsession and addiction. The coveted BALL. I don't know what makes it so good, so luscious, so needed, but to her, it is all encompassing when it makes an appearance. Everything else ceases to exist when the ball comes out to play. I guess we all have our idiosyncrasies - crazy dog.

Cartoons for Poems
One of my wonderful clients has come back to me once again for illustrations for her poems. She creates wonderful short poems, with animals as the main characters. They're witty, fun and a joy to illustrate. These pieces are the result of 4 poems that she created, and I'm honoured that she has chosen me once again for this work. All of these pieces are created on 80lb card stock, and hand drawn with pen and (pantone) marker.

A Pogo Stick...really?
Yup, they're still around, these pogo sticks that I thought had gone the way of the dinosaur. Apparently they are still "hip" today, and there are high-end ones that you can order in for extreme, um, riders? Is that what they'd be called? Kind of like extreme BMXers or extreme roller bladers ... not sure. It would certainly be interesting to see what one can accomplish whilst "riding" one of these.

Anyway, this piece was for a clients son. She ordered the pogo for his birthday (today) but because it's coming over the border it has not, of course, made it here yet. So, she wanted to surprise him with something - a caricature of him on the pogo was the best choice, and I appreciate her choosing me to create it.
